Max had the opportunity to host a video for Experience.com, a very cool website that provides tips and internships for college students. I wish they’d had something like that when I needed it. I wouldn’t be sitting here writing about motorcycles right now; I’d most likely be sitting in my office on Wall Street ordering my assistant to pick up my lunch, and phoning Buck to make sure he’d packed the SUV for our long weekend in the Hamptons.
I know what you’re thinking right now. Knock it off.
Anyway. Experience hooked Max up to interview Uzay Tumer (you may remember Uzay from the reality TV show The Restaurant), who is general manager of Gaslight Brasserie – a hot new restaurant in Southie. They brought Max up to Boston and gave him a fabulous hotel stay on top of it all. He had a great time. Here’s the video.
Wow, he did such a great job, and he seemed relaxed and not overwhelmed. Well done, Max!
That was great. He did a very professional job. You must be proud of him.
MMMMMM. That was YUMMY!!
@Joan- that new avatar of yours is yummy too!
What a great little video. Thank you for posting it. Go Max! What a great opportunity. I’ve heard lots of good stuff about J&W U! Pretty down to earth advice from Uzay too. π
LOL – I love it. I haven’t seen max in a year or more and it’s always a fun time. π “So Fahhhhh” I love that Boston accent. He did a great job, you must be quite proud and I’m sure he loved it!
That is so stinking cool for so many reasons. Max is a doll. Love the accent. I love how he let the focus be on the person he was interviewing, unlike the tool who interviewed Joan’s daughter and hogged the spotlight away from Sarah. I also love the questions Max asked. They were perfect – open ended, on topic, interesting. You must be very proud! He’s a natural.
@ Barbara – Thank you! He did do well, I was very relieved because going into it I think he had no idea what was expected of him. You know how that is…remember the E show on local cable?
@ Sister Joan – Thank you! We are really proud have him, always have been. He’s hilarious too, but like me his humor is often controversial, so I think he kept it in check for this video, which is good because we wouldn’t want any law suites coming at us. π Did Uzay remind you of Edward Norton? I thought he did.
@ David – Thank you! Uzay Tumer did come across as really helpful and likable, and interesting. He reminds me of a cross between Edward Norton and Stanley Tucci, both of whom I like very much. Ironically, Stanley Tucci starred in an indie film called “Big Night,” which takes place in an Italian restaurant. You’d probably like it, check it out if you ever run into it.
@ Dragonfly – Thank you! I never even notice Max’s accent, or our either for that matter, and I hate to tell you this but you’ve got the same one! I’m sure you hear about it now that you’re living in glamorous California. π
@ Little Miss – Thank you! He did seem at ease, didn’t he? Uzay was great, too. And I’m in total agreement about Sarah’s interview, I wanted to see more of SARAH! That interviewer that she had was hogging the show, which was annoying because Sarah came off so great, really great. Sarah needs her own show, a jewelry show live from Martha’s Vineyard!
This is a fantastic concept. Max did an excellent job.
(and I can think of absolutely nothing witty to say…) π
no, I was not winking… I swear those damn things never cooperate with me.
Great π
I thouht that was great! It was good to finally see it, and you’re right, he did a good job keeping his humor in check =) I’d love to go to that restaurant, the bread sounded good…
@cody: Yeah, I’m all over the bread – sounds fantastic. Let’s go! =)
Max did a great job… maybe he has a new career path on the Food Network?
@ Cody & Wendy – I also noticed his humor was in check and small smiles were being held in check as well. It made me laugh. He did great.
He did do a great job! The first time I watched it I was holding my breath waiting for his biting sarcasm to both mortify me and make me laugh at the same time, but it never happened. I didn’t exhale until they ran the credits at the end, however.
